Doesn't it seem sort of...degrading when people refer to others as animals, just to mock them? Why can't we just say PS3 owners or 360 owners or Wii owners? Is it that hard to type a few extra letters?Do we really have to call each other ani ...
I think it says more about the people that use the terms than the who they are talking about. Like maybe it says they should step outside and get some sun.Do we really have to call each other ani ...
who started the whole animal names in the first place?
I don't find it degrading, it's just a funny way of defining the factions that battle in this war. :DI haven't seen someone offended by that.
I hated being called a sheep or lemming or cow for liking a game on a system so I played safe.. I'm a manticore, a lover of all systems, :D

Yes, now get back into the kitchen.
I just picture people living in their mom's basements pantomiming to themselves recounting their past glories of ownage with the fat nerd lisp.''Aha! I've caught these cows in another hard spot. Owned hard. So hard. You sexy devil you.'' Are there actually people that come here to be serious and not just look around the area and feel better about themselves?
Whats a Manticore?
manticore, likes all systems, part sheep, part cow, part lemming, and a part hermit.. I played it safe so I can't be called an animal now :P
I never understood that. I wonder who started it.
Yeah, me too. It kinda sounds silly, ''You're a cow. No I'm a hemit!''
:| I think it's VERY lame, which is why I always put the selected animal name in quotes.
:| I think it's VERY lame
I agree.Which is why I don't use the animal names at all.

:| I think it's VERY lame
I agree.Which is why I don't use the animal names at all.
And I appreciate it. The first few days of sw for me was confusing, Every time I posted something I got called an animal and I had no idea what it meant..
im wondering where the ideas for the names came from in the first place.

Yes, now get back into the kitchen.
Wait....What?
you heard the man, can i have a sandwhich please, no crusts :D
Do you really want to take the all the time and effort to type out ''PS3 OWners, 360 Owners and Wii owners''?
Seriously dude, that\'s a lot of work.
imo the animal names are better than having to say wii owners, ps3 owners, 360 owners, or pc owners. Using ''____ owners'' is very awkward especially if you use that method more than once in a single sentence. Plus, that doesn't fully capture what the animal names really mean. It's actually more than an owner of a system, and means different things in different contexts. In a place like system wars it's most commonly referring to members of opposing factions. The animal names (although are hermits animals, maybe hermit crabs?) are appropriate because people who own just one system are generally much more involved in the ''system war'' and so are more condesending to each other. I should know, I used to be a sheep exclusively and since I've got a ps3 I'm a bit more mellowed out although I think i was pretty fair before. related topic: I actually really like the term ''graphics ('prostitute', if you catch my drift)'', although I understand what's wrong with it. It's downright mean language but I still think we should have a term for people who put too much priority on graphics. It's such a common bias but describing it is usually a real chore
