Okay so I've been gone for a little bit but like Favre I decided to come back. Don't know how long but this place seems to be starving for something different. So I'll take it back a bit and address some of the recent hypocricies and double standards around here.SalesA vast majority here say that sales don't determine the winner and that the games do. Well there really isn't anything wrong with that. I mean I don't know about you but I play Games I can't insert Sales into any of my consoles. But the problem I have with the whole sales argument is this.The Wii is downplayed so much when it comes to sales. People will bash on it and say who cares if it has sales. That doesn't mean it has the best games and just because it sells the most doesn't mean that its winning. PS3 and 360 fans will both commit to saying these a lot yet....When the PS3 starts out selling the 360 all of a sudden the sales argument is used. The one that says PS3 is selling more so its winning and is better. So really if you are one of these people that say just beause the Wii sells the most doesn't mean its winning. Why are you also saying that the PS3 is beating the 360 because of sales? Isn't it supposed to be all about the games?Hiding Behind Other SystemsSure exclusives rule all. Its the reason you buy a system. But I find it down right disturbing as to why people hide behind another platform. Now I don't mean people saying you can get said 360 game on PC because that's not hiding that would just be an alternative. I'll throw out an example.If you haven't figured it out yet the Sony fans and the 360 fans love going back and forth. Its no secret that they are amongst the most active posters here and draw the most heat towards eachother. One of the main topics of discussion you will see right now is the RPG debate.Anybody who plays RPGS should know that out of the three current gen consoles the 360 is clearly the best for RPGs. So why do PS3 fans say the DS, PSP, PS2, and PC are better? I mean sure they are, but in the end you're just putting your own system down further. Essentially whats being said is that the 360, DS, PSP, PS2, and PC are all better and really um that's not so good.MultimediaSomething I'll never understand when it comes to gaming. Sure its a luxary but the main benifit of console gaming is um well gaming. Why people push the 360/PS3 features so hard is beyond me. I'm sure everyone has a PC/Mac which does everything so much better anyways. I mean if people are going to talk about DS, PSP, PS2, and PC being better for RPGs why are these people even praising multimedia function when they are probably using something right now that is so much superior? To be fair I do love in game sound tracks though. Unless the music is really bad.XBL vs PSN1) You pay more for a PS3 because of said value.2) You pay more for XBL because of said value.Why is the 1st one so accepted while the 2nd one is not? Who really knows.The Crysis PCSounds like a good deal to me. $700 for a pretty nicely powered PC that is proven to be able to run Crysis and Crysis Warhead. And lets be honest if you can run those two games chances are you are going to be able to run pretty much everything else out there currently and coming out in the near future. People will still be hating on price but hey what ever happene to ''Value for your money?'' This machine will also have more multimedia functions then any console. I mean come on its a PC. A lot of you had no problems paying $600 for a PS3 so for $100 more it shouldn't be a problem. Especially seeing as you don't have to buy an HDTV for it.Exclusive Games Once again people preach exclusives. While Nintendo had a nice little run to start out the year with Mario Kart, Brawl, and No More Heroes sadly it just didn't hold up and its been looking a little boring imo for quiet a bit. PC is always going strong as usual and with Crysis Warhead about to drop it only gets better. But I always enjoy watching the PS3 and 360 fans (as always) go at it. It is quiet amusing.This year the PS3 came out with a monster title in MGS4 which recieved the highest score you could get being AAAAE. So the PS3 for this year goes as follows1) MGS4 AAAAEBut according to Nerdman's thread there um isn't any other AAE or AAAE titles for the year. Maybe I didn't look at it correctly because I'm sure that's got to be wrong. No way the PS3 has only put out one exclusive title over 8.0 on GS this year.On the flip side of the 360 well yeah its been in a AAA drought as of late. But as for as exclusives go (not counting XBLA games sorry)1) Tales of Vesperia = AA2) Ninja Gaiden 2 = AA3) Viva Pinata 2 = AASo in the end you have 3 AAE titles vs 1 AAAAE title. To be honest I find it funny that either fans of these platforms are claiming that it is either ones year. I mean they are pretty much close. Another thing I noticed is that in the last 4 monthes the 360 got 3 AAE's while in the entire PS3's life so far it only has 4 AAE's.I really could care less about scores, ratings, and reviews, but for those who do and use them a lot its time to check yourselves.That's a wrap Just some of the things I've been noticing in my time of inactivity.
