The Wii is dominating this gen.

I keep seeing sheep post this whenever wii is criticized all they have to say is look at the sales, but the thing is Wii cant be compared to PS3 and 360 because they appeal to completely different audiences. PS3 and 360 appeal to mature and hardcore gamers where the Wii is brought by kids, women, old people and for the family. While its still a console its not in direct competition. Its like comparing sales of Nike trainers with wellington boots they're both shoes but they don't compete against eachother and people buy they for different reasons, so dont try to use sales to prove the Wii is good because it isn't its a cheap plastic toy with dated hardware marketed at casuals, it makes me laugh to see suppposedly hardcore sheep stick with nintendo after they abandoned them. The Wii is dominating this gen.
Alll consoles are targeted at casuals. All consoles are targeted at hardcore gamers. The Wii is dominating this gen.
Sales only matters to any fanboy when their system is winning. Look at some topic saying. 360 is selling more then ps3 or other way around. Fanboys need to make up their mind. Do sales matter or not?
Infants and Grandmas
On sales, maybe.
This has been discussed a lot of times. why do you think you hardly see any sheep anymore?
Thw weakest system seems to sell more units every generation. Am I surpised? Nope.

Ps3 and Xbox 360 are similar to a lot of people. However the Wii is not. It was not made to compete with all the memory and grafics, It was a big hit because of the motion sensing. Not to mention it was 100-200$ cheaper than the other consoles. If a devolper works hard at the graphics it could look like Ps3/Xbox 360. Ex: Conduit, Mario Galaxy.
Every winner each gen has known the audience.Atari released the 2600 because they knew people would buy coin-op ports.NES was dominating because it brought games with more depth and console-exclusive and a lot of innovations, including the control pad.SNES followed the NES trend but the Mega Drive gave it a lot of battle because Sega knew gamers wanted to be cool.PS1 crushed everything because it was the system for a teen to have. Kind of a lifestyle symbol and Sega and Nintendo didn't realize gamers had grew up.PS2 followed the trend and benefited from an installed fanbase. Also, they took steps to appeal to casuals. Wii is outselling everything because Nintendo thought ahead and expanded the audience (and sacrificed a little of the minority - real gamers), thus almost opening a new market. They took Sony's casual experience to a new and horrible level with their games, but it was successful. The Game Boy and DS line have always dominated because Nintendo knows people don't want the same thing as a home console, they want something different. You can't be on top all the time, companies always fail to see how the userbase evolves.
Thw weakest system seems to sell more units every generation. Am I surpised? Nope.
Yeah, sometimes (SNES beat the genesis and had power). With the Wii, Nintendo did go to a new level when talking weakest system of a generation, though.
Alll consoles are targeted at casuals. All consoles are targeted at hardcore gamers.
This. The Wii is dominating this gen, Sony and Microsoft both went after the core audience first, Nintendo saw a ''blue-Ocean'' (casual audience) and tapped into it.

Very smart.

In terms of software, its subjective. However most people would say the Wii can't compare to the other two.

For me it goes
360 > Wii > PS3 in terms of software.
For me it goes
