Heh, so it finally happened.

Enough GPU2 Folding@Home clients were set up to out perform the PS3, look at the performance/contributor ratio. Heh, so it finally happened.
what is all this ''folding @ home'' stuff i keep reading, summarize the point please. Heh, so it finally happened.
GPU2's ???
what is all this ''folding @ home'' stuff i keep reading, summarize the point please.
-The WikiAs for the point, it means PS3 is not the boasted performance leader in F@H anymore; and evidence that the ''almighty Cell'' has been outdone through GPU computing (at least in this area).PS3s position within the folding@home program was/has been used to argue the merits of PS3 and Cell. These figures show its performance was easily outdone by PC contributors, a fraction of the number at that. We have known this for some time, but only now has the number of contributed performance from GPUs exceeded the PS3s overall performance contribution.
GPU2's ???
I'm not sure of all the details that set it apart from GPU1, but it uses CUDA for Nvidia cards specifically.
Ok, and that took what 2 years.Too bad nobody cares though.
I don't understand either :P
What does this prove? More people go on folding on a PC than PS3? Wow...
Ok, and that took what 2 years.Too bad nobody cares though.
Guess who has cared for the past two years? Who has boasted about taking the performance lead since they got it? Who has said having better performance doesn't matter if your overall contribution is lower?Typical, it only matters until they are no longer in the advantage; then it's no longer relevant.
What does this prove?
