Yeah it seems they have changed. I think most people used to hate on EA so much because they basically release the same games every year with minor upgrades at full retail price.(their sports lineup) But now it seems they are taking their time or letting the developers take their time with their games. I think they have learned a lesson from Blizzard and Nintendo. You don't see a new Fight Night, Burnout, or Need for Speed every year now.Why do people hate EA so much?
They've changed their practices for the better now. They're a great publisher. They have the funds to publish a game and finance it long enough to develop it properly so games they publish very rarely feel ''rushed''. And now they seem to let developers have creative control now, which is good. I used to be on the hate bandwagon, but I now find EA to be a respectable company. They're a good publisher. If anyone can get a game properly marketed, well-funded, and have a proper amount of development time.. its EA, really.
They're the biggest publisher in the world, some of their dlc on xbl is flat out robbery, they put out yearly sports games.

They've changed? Chyeah, right! I guess that's why in the past year they bought out Pandemic and Bio-ware, and are STILL trying to buy-out Take-Two. Not to mention Mercenearies 2 being rushed to the market leading it to be full of bugs and glitches. Yeah, some change.
An issue as small as that could be fixed with a mere patch. Harmonix added an entire music store in Rock Band with a patch. If Harmonix can add a feature that big in a patch then I'd think roster updates would be really easy.

The hate is gradually decreasing. Thats what releasing good games will do though.
They hate EA the same reason people hate Walmart.. At least thats how i feel about it.. I big corporatation buying out independent developers etc.. I don't know I could be wrong.
i use to hate them but since they have put out some great games they are becoming ok

I only hate their sports division tbh. They've been getting a lot better in the past year or so. They've even got a gaming rig for Crysis.
Some of the worst customer service in the business. That's my main reason for disliking (not hating) EA.
Monopolization, removal of competitiveness, DRM and rehash-itis
I don't mind their sports line-up anymore. It seems good. From what I heard, I think it was last year's Madden that had a pretty drastic overhaul. FIFA 08 also did huge change for the better.I thought FIFA 09 would be a miss, but damn have they gone ahead and changed a lot of the niggling issues in FIFA 08 and then some, which makes me want to pick this year's version up.

Mercenaries was delayed an entire year.
Add to the list
That means it was delayed before EA bought Pandemic. If they were really this new and improved EA like some of you are suggesting, they would have delayed it longer to iron out all the bugs and glitches. But this is EA, this is what they do. They snatch good developers and force them to rush out subpar games that aren't even fully completed. It's the same crappy EA.
