yea there are better first person shooter games than Prime, but there are also better first person shooter games than mario kart.

The only difference between Super Metroid and Prime is simple, one is 3rd person side scroller, and the other is first person. Prime is actually a lot better than Super Metroid. I think Retro got it exactly right and then some. You should really play it.

I love Super Metroid. I also love Metroid Prime. It saddens me to see people not appreciating such a masterpiece..

Because Metroid is all about atmosphere. If you can't feel the atmosphere in the Prime games, I'd have to ask if you're playing the right game :

I'm a huge Metroid fan and Super Metroid is probably one of my favorite games ever, but every Metroid game since then has been very good. Even Pinball wasn't that bad, and Zero Mission (while it was stupidly easy) was a great remake. Seriously, Super Metroid was great but.. the Metroid series has had plenty of good games. Come to think of it, I can't think of a Metroid game that wasn't good.
well prime1 and 2 i wouldnt consider fps. 3 is arguable, not sure what i consider it.anyway i love prime 1 and 2 but i havent played any of the 2d games.
Metroid Prime series are NOT FPS's.

[/QUOTE]Because Super Metroid is so frequently in ''Top ten games of all time'' lists. :roll:The point is, Metroid Prime captured the spirit of a metroid game perfectly, the platforming, the adventure, the battles, the isolation, the puzzles. I own both Metroid Prime and Super Metroid, and I think that they are both amazing games, that both play very much the same.
i never enjoyed the Prime series either. Metroid is best as a 2-D series.
Metroid Prime was Super Metroid incarnate in 3D, I don't see how you couldn't enjoy it. Unless of course you didn't actually give the game a chance and went it with presuppositions. Or didn't like Super Metroid.

Technically super metroid was the last metroid I beat cause I played all the primes first.
