The long standing success of the PS2 is ...

Whats the reason people are still buying the PS2? Thats right price point, now enter the arcade 360 unit, which is essentially a next gen HD gaming system for 199. Say what you want, but this very fact is a true indicator of sales to come for the 360. Casuals and families are willing to pay 200. It is a perfect price point, and the NPD data will prove my point. Your take on this point. The long standing success of the PS2 is ...
The Arcade will sell, but I think that factors, including consumer confusion and retail sales clerks, will ultimately hamper the impact of the Arcade's price point, making it a success, but a mild one.The long standing success of the PS2 is ...
Whats the reason people are still buying the PS2? Thats right price point, now enter the arcade 360 unit, which is essentially a next gen HD gaming system for 199. Your take on this point.
PS2 is still selling because its the right price with the right amount of games. Remember that the PS2 was not the cheapest console available, Dreamcast and GC were cheaper. Arcade has ALWAYS been cheaper then the Pro yet the Pro has always been the console of choice when choosing to get a 360. Most likely because a HUGE part of owning a 360 is to play online. Most of its high profile titles depend on its online multiplayer to add replay value, such as GEOW, Halo 3, Forza, PDZ, etc.. Nobody wants to get an Arcade and be left out of online play if they make mandatory HDD like Burnout. Most people prefer to buy the higher end model period. The PS2 has one model at one price and it has a huge library. The 360 has 3 models at three different prices and most prefer to at least get the Pro which is in between. Thats not gonna change.
